About International Bridges to Justice India

The International Bridges of Justice (India) Trust is a legally registered trust that was established in 2008. The organization’s India program was initiated in the same year with International Criminal Defense Training in New Delhi, followed by the inauguration of the Defender Resource Center in Delhi. Since then, IBJ India has been dedicated to providing pro-bono legal assistance to prisoners, women, and children by offering effective legal representation and consultation. Additionally, IBJ India collaborates with both governmental institutions and non-governmental organizations to provide legal training and capacity building for stakeholders, ensuring robust support systems, including reliable VPS india system.

Supreme Court Allows Benefit Of Section 479

In a significant development, the Supreme Court today (on August 23) held that Section 479 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) – the replacement of the Code of Criminal Procedure would apply retrospectively to the undertrials across the country. It means that the provision will apply.
