Karen Tse – Founder and CEO International Bridges To Justice

Former public rights defender and a leading social entrepreneur. Karen completed her graduation from ULCA Law School and Harvard Divinity School. She also served as United Nations Judicial Mentor and under the badge of United Nations, she trained many judges and prosecutors, and stablished the first arraignment court in Cambodia. She later founded International Bridges to Justice in 2000 to promote change in the administration of justice. She was named as one of the America’s Best Leaders in 2007 and was also the recipient of Harvard divinity School’s First Decade Award in 2008, American Bar Association’s International Human Rights Award in 2008 and many more.

Hon. Justice Manmohan Sarin, Former Chief Justice Jammu and Kashmir High court

Justice Sarin is a former Judge and a lawyer who graduated from St. Stephens College, Delhi and the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. He worked as an in-house Counsel for IBM and World Trade Corporation for 10 years and later practised as an Advocate in the High Court of Delhi and Supreme Court of India, handling various litigations. He served as a Senior Panel Counsel for the Government of India from 1990-1995. He was also designated as the Chairman of the COFEPOSA Board during 2007-2008 and served as Chief Justice in the High Court of Kashmir. He has received several awards for his contributions, including establishing and setting up and running of Delhi High Court Mediation Centre.

KTS Tulsi, Senior Advocate and Former Member of Parliament

Mr. Tulsi is a Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India and has been a council member of the Criminal Justice Society of India since 1994. He has represented high-profile clients such as Mr. Ratan Tata, Dr. Manmohan Singh, and the late Ms. Jayalalitha and Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav. He has also served as a Special Public Prosecutor in Punjab and Assam and conducted prosecution in various cases. Apart from his legal career, Mr. Tulsi is also an accomplished author, having published "Tulsi’s Digest of Accident Claims Cases" and "Goswami and Tulsi’s Landlord & Tenant Cases", as well as over 100 articles in leading national newspapers and legal journals.

Lalit Bhasin, Sr. Advocate and founder of Bhasin & Co.

Dr. Lalit Bhasin is a distinguished lawyer with over five decades of law practice. He is the Managing Partner of M/s Bhasin & Co., Advocates. He started his law practice in 1962 and has developed Bhasin & Co. as one of the leading law firms in north India. His areas of specialization include Employment & Labour Laws, Corporate Law (Formation of Joint Venture Companies, Foreign Collaborations, Amalgamations, Mergers, Acquisitions, Disinvestment); Laws relating to Information Technology; Contract and Conveyance; Sports Law; Entertainment & Media Laws; Constitutional Law; Banking and Finance; Consumer Protection Laws, etc.

Dr. K. P. Kylasanatha Pillay, Senior Advocate

Dr. K. P. Kylasanatha Pillay is a Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court ad also serving as Non-Executive Independent Director of the Company. He has a Ph.D. in law and has handled cases related to Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, and Corporate jurisdictions. He has conducted numerous Public Interest Litigations before the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala and the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Dr. Pillay has also been actively involved in socio-political organizations and has held positions of responsibility.

Sanjeewa Liyanage, IBJ International Program Director

Sanjeewa, from Sri Lanka, has been IBJ International Program Director since October 2006. He has over 12 years of experience in project management in Asia. He began his career as the Asian Coordinator for International Young Christian Students (IYCS) in 1988, then joined the Asian Legal Resource Center (ALRC) in 1995. Sanjeewa represented the ALRC at different UN forums and has undergone human rights training at the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague and the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) in Copenhagen. He obtained his Master of Law (LLM) (Human Rights) at the University of Hong Kong in 2004.

Adv. Ajay Verma, Chairperson IBJ India

Ajay Verma is a New Delhi-based lawyer specializing in General Litigation, Criminal Law, Human Rights Laws, International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, and Prison Law. He is renowned for representing poor litigants on a pro-bono basis and received multiple accolades. Ajay is actively involved in various organizations and has completed training programs from reputed institutes, including the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute. He is also a trained and certified war crimes investigator and a rostered expert in Justice Rapid Response.

Our products are a couture line of designer gold jewellery with a focus on design studded with color stones. We have a dedicated design team that is continuously working on new ideas, always striving to bring out something new. We have customers across India, including the largest brands in the country, and a reputation for our innovative products and quality. He joined his father in 1983, and after his father’s demise in 1991, He took over the business. He has his past associations and experiences working for the welfare of the industry in various capacities and positions.

Katyayini - Program Coordinator

Katyayini embarked on her journey with IBJ India in 2014, initially joining as an intern. Following her graduation and subsequent professional experience, she transitioned into the role of a volunteer lawyer with IBJ India and now as a program coordinator. Her dedication and passion for justice have since propelled her into a distinguished career marked by innovative legal strategies and impactful advocacy, particularly in the realm of women's rights and criminal justice reform. With a profound commitment to justice, she has played a pivotal role in representing the marginalized individuals especially women before Delhi courts, ensuring their legal rights are safeguarded and justice is served. Katyayini’s fight for justice and equality, ensures that the voices of Delhi's women prisoners are heard and their rights upheld through both legal advocacy and proactive community engagement.

Ajay Raghav – Lawyer

Ajay Raghav started practicing as a lawyer in 2005 as a trial court lawyer. He has more than six years of experience in handling both civil and criminal cases in the District courts of Delhi. He has also handled Writ Petitions, Public Interest Litigations, and civil as well as criminal cases in Delhi High Court and has volunteered with IBJ as a duty lawyer since September 2011. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University and L.L.M from Veer Kunwar Singh University from Ara, Bihar.

Neeraj Bhardwaj - Lawyer

Neeraj Bhardwaj is an Advocate with over 19 years of experience practicing in Delhi, specializing in civil, criminal, and consumer litigation. He regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, and various district and consumer forums. He has served on the panels of the Delhi Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, and has contributed as a Jail Visiting Advocate and panel counsel with the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee. He has also been appointed as Amicus Curiae and Local Commissioner by Delhi courts. A graduate of the University of Delhi and Chaudhary Charan Singh University, he is known for his practical approach and strong courtroom advocacy.

M.L. Yadav – Senior Volunteer Lawyer

Mr. M.L. Yadav is a lawyer based in Delhi. He mainly practices before the Delhi High Court and has done so since 1999. Besides his private practice, Mr. Yadav works closely with IBJ India, taking on many cases of indigent prisoners to provide them with free legal assistance.

SOCIAL WORKER

Ms. Anjali Malik

Anjali is a passionate social work professional with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Indira Gandhi National Open University. She brings diverse experience from her roles as an Educator at Samarpan Foundation, Team Lead at Agape Blessed Foundation Trust, and contributor to initiatives at Voice of Heart and Akshay Partisthan. Specializing in child rights advocacy, counseling, needs assessments, and child-centered education, Anjali is dedicated to empowering underprivileged children and families. With strong skills in intervention planning, report writing, and community-based programs, she works toward fostering holistic development and sustainable social impact.

Divyanshi Siddharth (Volunteer)

Divyanshi Siddharth is a Social Worker serving as a volunteer with International Bridges to Justice India, where she works on women’s rights, legal awareness, and justice. She is pursuing her Master’s in Social Work from the Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi. She holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science from Banaras Hindu University, which provided her with a strong foundation in social sciences and public policy. With academic training and field experience, she is committed to community development, social justice, and empowering vulnerable populations through sustainable and rights-based interventions.

Naushad Alam (Volunteer)

Md Naushad Alam is pursuing a Master’s in Social Work at the Delhi School of Social Work. He completed his B.A. (Hons.) in History from Jamia Millia Islamia. As a volunteer with International Bridges to Justice, he contributes to research and legal awareness initiatives focused on fair trial rights, access to counsel, and criminal justice reform. He has previously worked with PRADAN in Jharkhand on livelihood promotion and women’s Self-Help Groups, and with CCAW on child rights, education, and community health. His areas of interest include access to justice, community development, participatory governance, livelihood enhancement, and strengthening rights-based approaches for marginalised communities.

Drisya Vasantha (Volunteer)

Drisya is a final year student at the Delhi School of Social Work and a graduate of the Central University of Gujarat. She has field experience in human rights, criminal justice, and community development through engagements with the Gujarat State Human Rights Commission, Gujarat Police Mahila Cell, and other institutions. Her interests lie in gender justice, correctional systems, and rights-based social work practice.
